MLB Spring Training Cities We Love
Batter up!
Pitchers and catchers have already reported, and the die-hard fans are next! If you can’t wait until April to catch your team in action, Spring Training is just what you need to tide you over. Teams are based in Florida or Arizona, with plenty of fun to be had—baseball or other-wise
Ready to yell yourself hoarse? Find your favorite team (or check out a new team) in one of our favorite MLB Spring Training cities.

Clearwater, FL
There’s a reason why so many teams chose the Sunshine State for their spring training location. Clearwater’s white powdery sands and the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf earn its well-deserved reputation as one of America’s top beaches. Try your hand at paddleboarding!
When you need a break from the beach, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. Nearby Tampa (Spring Training home of the New York Yankees) has the Straz Center, with recent performances including “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hanson.” Or, if you’re feeling a bit more… boisterous, check out Ybor City and its infamous bar crawl.

Ft. Myers, FL
Ft. Myers is home to two solid teams—and their rowdy fan bases. It’s also another fantastic beach location for Spring Training. Ft. Myers Beach is gorgeously warm, perfect for floating the day away. And don’t miss the stunning sunsets at the pier, where you can sit and watch street performers.
Make sure to build in some free time while you’re in Ft. Myers for one of its coolest adventures: a fast ferry to Key West. Faster than driving and a fraction of the cost of flying, it’s by far the easiest way to get to the Southernmost Point in the U.S.
Spring Training for: Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins

Mesa, AZ
More of a desert clime kinda baseball fan? We’ve got you! The third-largest city in Arizona isn’t too insufferably hot in the spring, so you can catch your fave team without sweltering. And after the game, stop by downtown Mesa to cool off at one of the top-notch local breweries.
Traveling with the kids? Then this is one of the best MLB Spring Training cities for your fam! Don’t miss the historic Apache Trail, which takes you through the Superstition Mountains. Along your Wild West drive, you’ll go through a mining camp, a stagecoach stop, and even a ghost town.
Spring Training for: Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics

Sarasota, FL
The Spring Training home of the Birds is also one of the best places to see Florida’s natural side. You’ve got the amazing Gulf Coast beaches, ‘nuff said there.
But the real non-beach treat here is Myakka River State Park, one of the oldest, largest, and best parks in the state of Florida. You can hike, kayak, or stroll along the boardwalk while taking in the wildlife in its 37,000-plus acres. There’s even an airboat if you want to cruise along the river!
Spring Training for: Baltimore Orioles

Scottsdale, AZ
Leave it to Scottsdale to outdo the rest of the MLB Spring Training cities with not one, not two, but three Spring Training teams! To make sure everyone knows who you’re rooting for, stop by Baseballism, downtown Scottsdale’s locally-owned merch shop.
Scottsdale is well-known for its golf game: more than 200 courses in the perpetually sunny city! But don’t overlook its artsy side. Downtown is dotted with world-class art galleries and museums downtown. One of our fave restaurants, AZ/88, is just a short walk from the stadium and features ever-changing modern art installations to “wow” its hungry patrons.
Spring Training for: Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants
